Regarding Access to the Lithuanian State Historical Archives Documents on the FamilySearch Platform
In response to inquiries from the genealogical community regarding fluctuating access to the Lithuanian State Historical Archives (LSHA) documents on the FamilySearch platform, we would like to inform you that recently, access to some documents may have been unstable or temporarily restricted.
Based on the information provided by FamilySearch, it is not entirely clear what specific reasons are causing these access fluctuations. However, as far as is known, they are related to FamilySearch’s internal procedures and technical adjustments.
We would like to emphasize that LSHA has not imposed any restrictions on FamilySearch’s right to publish or provide access to the digitized archival documents.
We also remind users that by the end of 2027, all LSHA digitized documents will be available through the Electronic Archives Information System (EAIS).
