Strengthening Ties: Olsztyn Archivist at the Lithuanian State Historical Archives
On 15–19 September 2025, the Head of the Document Restoration Department of the State Archives in Olsztyn (Archiwum Państwowe w Olsztynie), Monika Bogacz-Walska, completed an internship at the Lithuanian State Historical Archives. During the internship, she was assisted by Violeta Pansevič, Senior Specialist of the Information and Communication and Dissemination Department.
M. Bogacz-Walska familiarized herself with the activities of the Lithuanian State Historical Archives, visited the main document depositories, and assessed the conditions of document preservation. She paid particular attention to the documents of the Vilnius Society of Friends of Science (pol. Towarzystwo Przyjaciół Nauk w Wilnie), examining their physical condition as well as their storage conditions and methods.
M. Bogacz-Walska also visited the Document Restoration Department of the Lithuanian Central State Archives, the Pranas Gudynas Restoration Centre of the Lithuanian National Museum of Art, and the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania at the National Museum.
